Meet Your Baker

👋Hi, there! I'm Ashley! It's nice to meet you!

Baking has been a big part of my life for many, many years but it's not where it all started. I grew up in Wichita, Kansas and from a very young age, I was sure I would become a Veterinarian some day. As I got older, though, I realized that I couldn't actually see myself doing that for the rest of my life. I loved surprising my friends and coworkers with the desserts I made from the Betty Crocker recipe books that you can find at the grocery store check out register. Seeing the look on someone's face when they see or taste something I made makes my whole day brighter!

In 2010, I decided to escape the snow and move to Houston to attend the Art Institute. It was important that I had classical training and a diploma to back up my skills so, after a whirlwind 18 months in their accelerated program, I earned my Associates of Science in Baking and Pastry in 2011. 🎓

After college, I went back to working with animals while I continued to bake as a side hustle. My coworkers were more than willing to act as guinea pigs while I perfected my recipes! With each custom order I received, I continued to hone my skills and try new techniques. At the time, I was based out of Katy, Texas and known as Crazy Daisies Sweets and Treats *cue all the bright colors*

In 2021, I moved with my family (my son, Felix, and my boyfriend at the time, Chris, and our dog, Melon) to the Kingwood area and rebranded to Dapple Bakery. After years with the flashy branding, it was time for a more sophisticated refresh to match my more professional customer experience. I started teaching sugar cookie decorating classes the following year because I love teaching others how to make beautiful, tasty treats too. Whether you're looking to start your own baking business or just want a fun activity, I'm here to help!

In 2025, Chris was promoted from Baker's Boyfriend to Baker's Husband and you'd better believe I made the cake and cookies for our wedding! I couldn't trust one of the most special days of my life to just anyone. Whether your event is a wedding or a birthday party, I'll treat your order with as much care as I did my own wedding cake.

Each inquiry I receive truly makes me so excited. I love being part of my customer's events and, in the long run, part of the story of their lives. I was the baker that created that one cake they remember for years to come. THAT'S why I do what I do and why it doesn't even feel like a job. 🩵
